There are about 1500 rice Mills in the country of which 30% market share holds by Rashid group( Rashid Agro Food Products Ltd. & Rashid Automatic Rice Mills Ltd.). Rashid Minicate Rice is the number one brand all over the country. The present government has taken several initiatives to increase rice production to achieve food security. That's why rice production has been growing rapidly and achieved food surplus. Now we have the opportunity to export rice. Bangladesh has already exported Fifty thousand tons of rice to Srilanka in the year 2014-2015 of which 50% has been exported by Rashid Group. Rashid Group also provides the major portion of rice required for Government consumption.
